Rome

Day 1 — Arrival in Rome

Arrive in Rome, where your private transfer will take you to your centrally located hotel. Depending on arrival time, enjoy a gentle introduction to the Eternal City with a stroll through your neighbourhood or an evening aperitivo in a historic piazza.


Day 2 — Rome: Ancient & Timeless

Today is dedicated to discovering Rome’s extraordinary layers of history. With your expert guide, explore highlights of Ancient Rome, such as the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, before continuing through Renaissance and Baroque Rome.

The afternoon is at leisure to visit museums, shop or simply enjoy Rome’s café culture.


Arpino

Day 3 — Transfer from Rome to the Countryside

Depart Rome and transfer south into the Ciociaria countryside. Settle into your charming agriturismo or historic country villa nestled among rolling hills dotted with olive groves and vineyards.

That afternoon, enjoy a welcome aperitivo under the sunset and a relaxed dinner of local specialties like handmade pasta, pecorino cheeses and rustic olive oil.

Settle into your quaint accommodation in the country town of Arpino for the night.


Day 4 — Arpino & Hill Town Discovery

Today explore Arpino, one of Ciociaria’s most atmospheric hill towns. Wander its maze of medieval lanes, from the remarkable Cyclopean walls of the ancient acropolis and visit historic churches and palazzi that tell the story of Roman, medieval and Renaissance life.

In the afternoon, meet a local historian or artisan to gain insights into Arpino’s culture and traditions — from old music schools to local crafts.

Alatri

Day 5 — Alatri & Medieval Walls

Head to Alatri, where one of Italy’s most impressive examples of megalithic Cyclopean walls awaits. Enjoy a guided exploration of the ancient fortifications and the medieval historic centre, with its elegant stone piazzas and atmospheric overlooked corners.

Lunch is in a family-run trattoria before an afternoon visit to a nearby orchard or olive mill to see traditional production methods in action.


Anagni

Day 6 — Anagni: City of the Popes

Make your way to Anagni, famously known as the City of the Popes. Start with a visit to its magnificent cathedral whose frescoed crypt is a hidden masterpiece of medieval art, then stroll through the old town’s shaded lanes and lively squares.

Enjoy lunch in a local osteria, then have leisure time to explore quaint shops and artisan workshops.


Veroli

Day 7 — Veroli & Monastic Heritage

This morning, visit the serene hill town of Veroli, and the nearby Abbey of Casamari, one of Italy’s most beautiful Gothic monastic sites. Its cloisters and gardens exude contemplative calm.

In the afternoon, depart northwards toward the Volcanic Lakes of Lazio region, arriving at Lake Vico — a pristine crater lake embraced by woods. Enjoy a lakeside walk, or for the active, canoeing or gentle cycling through chestnut and oak forests.


Lake Bracciano

Day 8 — Caprarola & Lake Bracciano

After breakfast, visit Caprarola and its stunning Renaissance jewel — the Villa Farnese, a masterpiece of architecture and gardens tucked into volcanic hills.

In the afternoon, continue to Lake Bracciano, Lazio’s serene volcanic lake. Wander along the shore, swim in its clear waters or explore medieval lakeside villages. Don’t miss Bracciano town and its imposing Castello Orsini-Odescalchi, a castle steeped in history and panoramic views.


Day 9 — Volcanic Lakes & Countryside Villages

Today is a playful exploration of the Lazio lake district. Options include leisurely walks around Lake Bracciano and Lake Martignano, visits to small lakeside towns like Trevignano Romano and traditional lunches overlooking the water. The quieter lakes offer tranquil swimming spots, canoeing or simply time to relax and savour the landscape.

Cap the day with a wine tasting featuring crisp Lazio whites and refreshing rosés, paired with local cheeses and focaccias.


Day 10 — Farewell & Return to Rome

Enjoy a final lakeside breakfast before a scenic transfer back to Rome for your departure. If your schedule allows, consider a final detour to the legendary Lake Albano or Lake Nemi — both volcanic crater lakes close to Rome with unique landscapes and charming historic villages.
