Rome & Vatican Museums

You will begin your twin-centre Italy holiday in the ‘Eternal City’ of Rome and will be treated to luxury upon arrival with a private car transfer from the airport to your hotel. After check-in, you’ll venture out on a tour of the Vatican to learn about the centuries of history within the walls of this spiritual place. Beginning with the Vatican Museums, you’ll take the beautiful spiral staircase to see the glorious galleries and precious relics of the past. You’ll then explore the famous Sistine Chapel with its magnificent fresco of the Last Judgement by Michelangelo, before having some free time to visit St Peter’s Basilica.

Discover Imperial Rome

After a free morning, you’ll enjoy an afternoon tour of ancient Rome on foot. Beginning at Piazza Venezia, you’ll head to the famous Piazza Del Campidoglio, designed by Michelangelo, where you’ll have a fantastic view of the Roman Forum. You will then head to the Circus Maximus, one of the largest sporting arenas ever built. The best of this tour has been saved until last – as a finale, you will have the opportunity to visit inside the iconic Colosseum.

Tour of Classic Rome

Today, you’ll explore some of Rome’s most iconic sights on this tour of classic Rome with your local guide. You’ll begin your stroll through the historic centre, where you can admire the Trevi Fountain, La Colonna di Marco Aurelio, the Palazzo di Montecitorio and Palazzo Madama – the seat of the Senate and Piazza Navona. You’ll also visit the Pantheon, an icon of Italy, Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps and, finally, Piazza Venezia.

Onwards to Sorrento

After having taken in the thousands of years worth of history that Rome has to offer, you will head to sunny Sorrento by train, ready for your next adventure. Upon arrival in Sorrento, you’ll have the afternoon free to yourself to relax in luxury or go exploring. You may want to visit Piazza Tasso, a large piazza that is one of the busiest and most popular areas in Sorrento. We also recommend exploring Via San Renato, which is a colourful weekly street market.

Pompeii Archaeological Site

Discover the remnants of Pompeii on this guided tour, which will take you back in time to the 1st century. Lost for almost 1,500 years beneath a blanket of ash following an ancient volcanic eruption, the historic settlement of Pompeii was brilliantly preserved. Everything in the town from its buildings and materials to its residents was kept in undisturbed condition by the ash covering. On this tour, you’ll learn all about the town’s history, including details of the famous volcanic eruption that destroyed the city.

The Beautiful Amalfi Coast

Today, you’ll head out to enjoy the amazing colours and landscapes of the Amalfi Coast, visiting the beautiful coastal towns of Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. After visiting the pretty coastal paradise of Positano, you’ll head to one of the most historic towns on this coastline, Amalfi, which was the seat of a powerful maritime republic from the 9th to 11th centuries. You can visit its beautiful buildings, which are a tribute to its history, before moving on to Ravello to explore its ancient stone streets and stunning cliff-top gardens.

Sorrento Farm & Food Tour

On this culinary tour, you will explore a typical local farm, taste organic products made with love and care, and enjoy a tasty traditional local lunch. Owned and operated by the same family for four generations, the farm produces high-quality products recognised by remarkable European brands. You’ll walk among the olive and lemon groves, and then take part in a hands-on demonstration of organic farming techniques.

Leisure Day in Sorrento or Explore Herculaneum

Today, you have a day to enjoy at your leisure or, if you prefer, you can enjoy a tour of Herculaneum, a famed archaeological site that was once a thriving port town. Herculaneum was buried under many layers of ash following the same eruption in 79 AD that destroyed Pompeii. Lying undiscovered for many years, the city was miraculously well-preserved and offers a different perspective on that time compared to Pompeii.

Visit Capri

Today, we’ll whisk you by boat to the tranquil island of Capri, known as the ‘Pearl of the Mediterranean’. This sun-soaked island is famous for its high-end shopping and staggering natural beauty. As a part of this day trip, you can enjoy a guided tour of Anacapri – the island’s main village. You’ll finish the day with an optional visit to the famed Blue Grotto, a cave where the water glows a luminous blue, creating a magical and romantic atmosphere inside the cave.
