This fabulous 10-day trip will start in the unique floating city of Venice, followed by Florence, the capital of the Italian Renaissance, with a day trip to the Chianti area in the beautiful Tuscan countryside.

 

After soaking up the incredible arts of the city of Florence in both its museums and its streets and filling your belly with Tuscan delights, you’ll move to the south of Italy to Sorrento and the world-famous Amalfi Coast.

 

Your trip will come to an end in the Eternal City of Rome, a place you must visit on your Italian adventure. This trip will leave you with a fine taste for Italian food and wine, an appreciation of Italian culture and a great grasp of Italy’s long history, as well as a lot of great memories!

Venice: 2 Nights

Arrival in Venice

You will be picked at Venice Airport and transported to your hotel in Venice. After checking into your hotel, you’ll have the rest of the day free to explore the wonderful floating city of Venice spread out over 100 islands in the Venetian Lagoon. In the late afternoon, you will be treated to a classical gondola ride down the Grand Canal with a local guide who can tell you all about the monuments and buildings you pass by.

Tour of Venice

This morning after breakfast, you’ll meet your local guide and enjoy a relaxing walk through the most characteristic and important regions of Venice on this tour, which includes a visit to and tour of Doge’s Palace. You’ll begin in Piazza San Marco where you’ll admire the remarkable 9th-century St Mark’s Basilica. You’ll then move on to Doge’s Palace where you’ll observe how, with much reconstruction, the design of the palace has changed from Byzantine-Venetian Gothic style to Renaissance style.

Florence: 3 Nights

Travel to Florence

You will be picked up at your hotel in Venice and transported to Venice train station, where you will take the train to Florence. Once in Florence, another private transfer will take you to your hotel. After checking in, you’ll have the rest of the day free to explore the city known as the ‘Cradle of Renaissance’. You may want to take a walk through the ages of the charming city of Florence and marvel at its many monuments.

Tour of Florence

Today, you’ll take a walk through the ages of the charming city of Florence with an expert local guide on this special tour, which includes entry to the Accademia Gallery home to Michaelangelo’s ‘David’. During this walk, you will see Piazza della Signoria and Palazzo Vecchio, the Florence Cathedral, the Baptistery with its “Gates of Paradise”, Giotto’s Bell Tower, Brunelleschi’s Dome, Ponte Vecchio and the secret Vasari Corridor, as well as famous shopping streets.

Tour of the Chianti

Today, you’ll head out with a local expert guide to discover the glorious Tuscan countryside on this tour of the Chianti wine region, with wine tasting on two wine estates and the chance to sample local delicacies. During the tour, you will be treated to a tour of the wine cellars with the owner, who will tell you all about the tradition of winemaking in Tuscany. You’ll also visit Greve in Chianti, one of the best-known towns in the Tuscan countryside.

Sorrento: 3 Nights

Travel to Sorrento

This morning from your hotel you will be picked up and taken to the train station in order to travel south to Naples by fast train. Once in Naples, a private transfer will take you to your hotel in the town of Sant’Agnello. With its breath-taking views over the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius, you can spend the rest of the day relaxing in your hotel’s panoramic swimming pool and dining on Italian coastal delights at the on-site restaurant.

Explore the Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast is famous all over the world for its naturalistic beauty: a nature that is still wild and uncontaminated. It is a breathtaking landscape that preserves centuries of art, history and culture to the point that it has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Today with a local guide, you’ll have your breath taken away as you travel along this coastline and visit the beautiful towns of Positano, Amalfi and Ravello.

Pompeii Tour

Today, you’ll step back in time and admire one of Italy’s most fascinating and best-preserved archaeological sites. The city of Pompeii, close to the Bay of Naples, is treasured as one of Italy’s most fascinating archaeological sites. In 79 AD, a long catastrophic eruption of the volcano Mount Vesuvius covered and destroyed Pompeii, killing over 2,000 inhabitants. Today, you’ll explore its highlights: theatres, thermal baths, fountains, the forum and the gladiators’ gym and the mills.

Rome: 2 Nights

Discover Rome

With a private transfer from your hotel in Sorrento, you’ll head to Naples train station where you will catch a fast train to Rome. Upon arrival, you will be met and taken to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will explore the classic monuments of Rome and the fascinating history behind them with a local tour guide. Among many other sites, you will visit the famous Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps and Piazza Navona.

Imperial Tour of Rome

You will be entering into the legend on this tour of Imperial Rome, featuring the Colosseum. This walking tour gives you the special opportunity to jump into Roman history and discover the iconic Colosseum, the largest amphitheatre not only in the Eternal City but also in the world with an expert private guide. You will visit the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. After the tour, you’ll have the rest of the afternoon and evening to explore Rome and enjoy your final night.
